This is Castanes Architects second project for this Seattle family who decided to raise their family in this mid century home overlooking Lake Washington. Though the “bones” of this home were still in place, the residence needed major overhauling beginning with raising the entire house off it’s foundation and “leveling” it with a new foundation that would meet current earthquake codes. A new European kitchen and informal dining area was located adjacent to the east garden which the Owner’s have lovingly redesigned and maintain to create a festive area for entertainment.
