Designed for a young family, this residence is located on the eastern shore of Lake Washington. It utilizes a vertical plan with garage, entry and main living areas on the top, sleeping areas on two middle floors, and a large family room with a summer kitchen on the lowest level where it is close to the water and outdoor play areas. The extremely steep site required the use of an innovative foundation system.
