The endless beach bordering the Pacific Ocean is strikingly sparse yet beautiful with gently sloping hills and yellow flowers moving with the wind.  A cluster of geometric volumes forms this 1,150 square-foot getaway, to compliment the minimalism of its natural environment. The house floats on concrete piles as not to disturb the natural formation of the ever changing sand berms. Yet it demands a presence, colorful like a beach ball, against the Gray Northwestern backdrop.  As the bright red door opens into the house, the main axis reveals a framed view out to the ocean. This main corridor connects and separates the two square of the public [cooking, dining and entertaining] and private [reading and resting].
